Is Heaven a Mountain?

Exhibition with Blue Rose Gallery (2021)

Is Heaven a Mountain? is Fuller's reinterpretation of the feelings of catharsis, security, comfort, and community often found in religious spaces and how these same feelings can be achieved without perplexity through introspection in the way we interact with and care for each other, human and non-human. The works are a nonlinear thought process of Fuller’s realization that spirituality can and should be constantly questioned and redefined with perpetual curiosity and playfulness

The Lord is my Shepard but what if he

He were my fellow sheep?

Would I love him more?

Or fear his snarl?

Would he cherish me more,

assure my heart was wrapped in

rubbed hands on winter’s

whitest night?

Do I claim the lord is above in case there comes a time

I have no one

Left?

Or because he is among the many sheep

I count while my head is dizzy in clouds

Is heaven a mountain where all beings

embrace?

Where a wolf’s howl is never a cry but a celebration

And they never steal a sheep’s clothes

And a doe will never know fear

And a cow never yearns for one last kiss,

before slaughter

Does escapism’s taunt resemble the church’s

stained glass nativity scene

Jesus too was a little lamb

I stay wrapped in this blanket womb

Wondering if the Lord still kept my soul

And if it’ll be Lonely there too
